About Canon University

Biblically centered education, distance learning and preparation for a life of Christian service.

Biblical learning. Productive service.

Canon University exists to train committed believers for productive service to the Lord Jesus Christ and His Church. Scripture is at the heart of its courses, with an emphasis on understanding the Bible and communicating the Gospel clearly.

Study in biblical studies and theology builds a foundation for Christian life and ministry. Counseling, Christian education and other religious disciplines connect that foundation with the people and communities students serve.

Build on the learning you bring

Previous education, documented ministry service, relevant work, church study courses and seminars may be considered in the credit-evaluation process. Canon evaluates study from schools compatible with its mission and doctrine; credit is not automatic and must be supported by documentation.

Education for religious vocations

Canon describes all of its degrees, whether granted or conferred, as ecclesiastical. They are designed to prepare people for religious service, educational work and ministry, rather than for general academic use.

Before choosing a program, discuss your intended work with admissions. Acceptance of credits by another institution and eligibility for an external professional credential are separate decisions made by the receiving institution or credentialing organization.

Institutional information and affiliations

The university’s published information describes an affiliation with the International Association of Christian Counselors & Therapist Inc. (IACCT). Students interested in an association credential should request the current requirements directly from the awarding organization; a degree alone is not a guarantee of a credential or permission to practice.

Request current institutional disclosures, supporting accreditation or authorization documents, and the academic catalog from the university. Review the scope and recognition of any award before relying on it for further education or professional work.
